CastNexus Terms of Service
Effective: 22 August 2026

Terms of Service

These terms govern use of the official CastNexus hosted OAuth service and related CastNexus software and services operated by NekoSuneVR. By using the hosted service, you agree to these terms. If you operate CastNexus for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these terms for it.

1. The service

CastNexus is an open-source, self-hosted broadcast-routing application. The hosted OAuth broker helps installations connect Twitch and YouTube through CastNexus provider credentials. Self-hosted installations run on infrastructure controlled by their operators. We do not operate, supervise or accept responsibility for an independent installation merely because it uses the broker.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be legally capable of accepting these terms and meet Twitch’s and Google’s applicable age and account requirements. You are responsible for the security of your provider accounts, self-hosted installation, server, stream keys, destination keys and administrators.

3. Permitted use

You may use CastNexus only for content and accounts you own or are authorised to access, relay, record, upload and distribute. You must comply with applicable laws, licences, platform rules and third-party rights.

4. Prohibited conduct

You must not:

5. Third-party services

Twitch, Google, YouTube, GitHub, MediaMTX, FFmpeg and other third-party services or software have their own terms, policies, availability and technical limits. Your use of them is governed separately. CastNexus is not endorsed by Twitch, Google or YouTube unless expressly stated by those companies.

6. Provider authorisation

You control whether to grant provider access. You may disconnect within CastNexus and revoke access in Twitch or Google account settings. Revocation may prevent login, discovery or YouTube-upload features from working. Never approve an OAuth request you did not initiate from your installation.

7. Availability and changes

The hosted service is provided on a beta and as-available basis. We may maintain, change, rate-limit, suspend or discontinue features where reasonably necessary for security, law, provider requirements or operation. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that third-party APIs will continue to support every feature.

8. Open-source software

Source code is provided under the licence stated in the CastNexus repository. These service terms do not replace that software licence. Your modifications and deployments remain your responsibility, including security, backups, data protection, content rights and regulatory compliance.

9. Suspension and termination

We may block or terminate access where we reasonably believe use threatens security, violates these terms or provider policies, creates legal risk, or harms the service or others. You may stop using the service and revoke provider access at any time.

10. Disclaimers

To the extent permitted by law, the service is supplied without warranties that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, suitable for a particular broadcasting purpose, or compatible with every network, provider or device. You are responsible for testing streams and maintaining backups before relying on CastNexus for a broadcast.

11. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or your mandatory consumer rights. Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profit, revenue, audience, opportunity, content or data, provider enforcement, or disruption caused by third-party services. Where liability can lawfully be limited, our total liability connected with the free hosted service will not exceed £100.

12. Indemnity for business users

If you use the service for business purposes, you will reimburse reasonable losses and costs arising from your unlawful content, infringement of third-party rights, misuse of provider data, or material breach of these terms, except to the extent caused by us.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except that consumers may retain rights to bring claims in another part of the UK or jurisdiction where mandatory law permits.

14. General

If part of these terms is unenforceable, the remainder continues. A delay in enforcing a term is not a waiver. You may not transfer your rights under these terms without consent; we may transfer operation of the service with appropriate notice and protection of your rights.

15. Contact

Questions about these terms can be submitted through the CastNexus contact and issue page. Do not post credentials or security vulnerabilities publicly.
